User Services is the main public service and circulation unit serving the university community from Library West. We offer the enthusiastic support and experience of our staff, provide access to a range of information and materials, and maintain both collaborative and quiet spaces. We are dedicated to assisting you in achieving your goals and warmly welcome you to make use of the resources in our facility. We can be reached in person at the second-floor circulation desk, by phone at (352) 273-2525, or by email.
Library Accounts & Privileges
For students, faculty and staff, Library accounts are created automatically based on information received from the University Registrar or from UF Human Resources.
Non-affiliate and guest users (including reciprocal, courtesy, or community borrowers) may apply for a library account. Visit the Access to Library Services Application to apply for library privileges.
The Checkout Guidelines and Privileges page provides a summary of what is included for your library account type.
Fines & Fees
Library items will begin to accrue fines as soon as they are overdue, and will be charged replacement fees for non-return.
For questions about charges, contact Library West via email. The amount and frequency of fines depends on the type of item on loan; see Overdue Fines for more information. All fines are transferred to your One.Uf account, and payable to the University Bursar.
You may Request a Refund of Fines and Fees to dispute a charge.
Lost & Found
Items lost or left behind by library users are collected and held at the Circulation Desk for a period of 30 days.
When identifiable items are found, we make reasonable efforts to contact the owner. After the 30-day period, unclaimed items are subsequently donated in accordance with University policy; credit cards and identification cards are securely shredded to.
For assistance, please contact us via email or phone.
Donation Drives
Library West is available to host donation drives in collaboration with UF-sponsored campus groups. If your organization is interested in participating, you may fill out a request using the Library West Donation Drive form.
